Thank You All!

Wow! We did not know what to expect for an "inaugaural" event. We hope that everyone enjoyed the beautiful day and activities. We sure apologize for the sheep not cooperating and the couple of vendors/activities that cancelled on us the day before and the day of. It's hard when things are out of your control but great for learning how to flow! We learned a lot about what will work better next year. Did I say next year? How did this day come about? We were scheduled to vend at a fiber art festival on April 16th but that was cancelled. We were scheduling our shearer to come and thought, "Hey, maybe we can do a shearing day since our festival date cancelled". We planned all this in three months time. We know next year will be better with more time to plan and more help. We canot believe how busy we were with approx. 300 people having come.

I hope everyone went upstairs in the "Upper Room" to see the silk extraction from the silk worm cocoons. I know watching Monika spin angora fiber right from the bunny on her lap was exciting for everyone who watched. I know I met some awesome people during the bread baking demos and hope that all interested will contact us for more info. We will be posting bread baking classes soon but must wait till after Lee, my son, gets married on May 15th. Again, we thank all who came out and enjoyed the day with us and those that volunteered their help. It is such a blessing to have good friends. Please contact us if you would like to come next year to vend, demo, volunteer. We are already starting to work on planning for next year.

For all those who were disappointed that the Lilley Billies didn't get to play that day, we apologize and will be having an open house coming soon so we can make it up to ya'll. We didn't expect to be that busy, we did attempt to a couple of times but couldn't. We will be updating the Upper Room Studio blog www.upperroomstudio.blogspot.com for upcoming classes, events, and news.
